Spoken word from a recording of Lee Gilhooley and a story of her time in the Police Force in the early 1960s: "...from Control. It said the order is that child has been in for more than 4 minutes no you are not to actually go in the water. And screeched to a halt and Tom Lucas is already stripping off in the back of the car. And it saying you are NOT to go in the water, you know, because now 10 minutes. And I can see Tom Lucas now running down that bank straight in the River Mersey. And do you know that lad was so ..., the Mersey was like an open sewer I mean it was dreadful. And he got a mystery virus from that. And that lad never recovered you know. He was... he never went back on duty. And the whole thing was a hoax."
